西华大学外国语学院英语专业创办于1983年，办学底蕴深厚。自2001年开始招收本科生，开设英语教育和商务英语两个专业特色方向。英语专业学制四年，就读校区为成都市郫都校区。学院有外国语言文学一级硕士点和MTI翻译专业硕士点，构建了本硕一体化培养体系。英语专业师资队伍实力雄厚，目前拥有专职教师30余人，教授、副教授14人，18人具有博士学位，长年聘请有外籍教师。教学和科研成效显著，承担国家社科基金、教育部人文社科研究项目多项，发表多篇高水平SSCI、CSSCI检索论文。英语专业主要课程包括《综合英语》《高级英语》《语言学导论》《英美文学史》《英语教学法》《翻译概论》《商务英语》等。英语专业实行小班教学，定期举办外语文化节，拥有先进的语言实验室和丰富的实习基地。目前平均每年招生百余人，近年毕业生就业率保持在94%以上，20%的毕业生被海内外高校录取攻读硕士学位，就业前景广阔，发展前景良好。英语系始终秉持“求是、明德、卓越”的校训，致力于培养具有家国情怀、国际视野、创新精神和实践能力的英语专业人才。美丽的西华校园，期待您的到来！
The English major at the School of Foreign Languages and Cultures, Xihua University, was established in 1983 and boasts a profound educational heritage. Since 2001, it has been enrolling undergraduate students, offering two specialized tracks: English Education and Business English. The English program spans four years and is located at the Pidu Campus in Chengdu. The school has a first-level master's program in Foreign Language and Literature and a Master of Translation and Interpreting (MTI) program, forming an integrated undergraduate and graduate training system. The English faculty is highly qualified, with over 30 full-time teachers, including 14 professors and associate professors, and 18 holding doctoral degrees. The school also employs foreign teachers on a long-term basis. Significant achievements have been made in teaching and research, with multiple projects funded by the National Social Science Fund and the Ministry of Education's Humanities and Social Sciences Research Program, as well as numerous high-quality publications indexed in SSCI and CSSCI.
The core courses of the English major include “Comprehensive English, Advanced English, Introduction to Linguistics, History of British and American Literature, English Teaching Methodology, Introduction to Translation, and Business English, etc”. The program emphasizes small-class teaching, regularly hosts foreign language and cultural festivals, and is equipped with advanced language laboratories and extensive internship bases. Currently, the program enrolls an average of over 100 students annually, with a recent graduate employment rate exceeding 94%. Additionally, 20% of graduates are admitted to domestic and international universities for master's degree studies, reflecting broad employment prospects and excellent development potential.
